Occupational Therapist

About the role

AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida, is hiring a full-time day-shift Occupational Therapist. The therapist performs evaluations, sets up and runs individualized treatment plans, teaches patients and caregivers and discharges patients when goals are met.

Key responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
• Establish, implement and adapt individualized treatment plans, including goal setting, treatment activities and frequency.
• Document accurately, completely and on time using measurable and objective terminology.
• Identify the need for patient and caregiver education and use teaching opportunities, including discharge recommendations.
• Discharge patients when maximum benefit is achieved or according to standards of practice and payer guidelines.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy preferred; education must meet the licensing or certification standards of the relevant body.
• Conversational English reading, writing and speaking ability.
• Effective written, verbal and electronic communication with patients, staff, physicians, nurses and administrators.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required; Occupational Therapist license and temporary OT license required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Windows.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
