Occupational Therapist – Inpatient Acute (PRN)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide inpatient acute care at Lutheran Hospital. This part‑time position supports patients in regaining independence and functional abilities during hospital stays.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, or psychosocial deficits affecting independent living skills.
• Design, implement, and modify individualized plans of care, including appropriate modalities and frequency of treatment.
• Document subjective and objective findings, monitor progress, and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Oversee certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with licensing laws and OT practice standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and graduation from an AOTA‑accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and occasional evenings.

Required skills

• Patient assessment and functional outcome measurement.
• Treatment planning and implementation using OT modalities.
• Documentation of clinical findings and progress notes.
• Use of adaptive equipment and discharge planning.
