Occupational Therapist - Home Health

About the role

Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses within UnitedHealth Group, is hiring an Occupational Therapist in Pleasant Hill, California. The therapist evaluates and treats patients in their homes to promote independence, safety and improved quality of life, helping people regain or maintain the skills needed for daily living after illness, injury or functional decline. The role works with patients, families and interdisciplinary team members to build individualized treatment plans in line with physician orders and agency policy.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy services under a physician-approved plan of care
• Ensure the plan of care addresses all problems identified in the assessment, or document the rationale if some are not addressed
• Be accountable for the safety and effectiveness of service delivery
• Complete documentation timely and accurately
• Supervise the home health aide when the RN is not active in the case
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Current license to practice occupational therapy in the state of assignment
• Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program
• Eligible for or has passed the NBCOT entry-level exam
• One year of related occupational therapy experience; less than one year requires approval from regional clinical leaders and mentoring or a residency program
• Current CPR certification

• $10,330 to $154,950 annual salary for full-time employment, depending on factors such as market, education and experience
