Nutritional Services Attendant

About the role

AdventHealth Carrollwood in Tampa, Florida is hiring a full-time Nutritional Services Attendant on a day shift. The role guides patients through meal ordering, delivers meals according to therapeutic diet guidelines and resolves foodservice concerns to support a positive dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Guide patients through meal ordering using a computerized diet office system, making sure selections match prescribed diets and offering personalized suggestions.
• Verify patient identifiers during meal delivery, check tray accuracy and confirm patients have everything they need before leaving the room.
• Round on patients and nursing staff to identify and resolve foodservice concerns, take ownership of complaints and implement service recovery to improve patient experience scores.
• Assemble and deliver trays according to therapeutic diet guidelines and presentation standards, keeping service timely and accurate across all patient areas.
• Perform physically active duties such as walking long distances, standing for long periods and working up to 12-hour shifts, while keeping the workplace clean, organized and compliant.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Able to communicate in English (required).
• Able to communicate with customers in person and by phone, professionally and efficiently (required).
• Able to handle customer interactions promptly, courteously and helpfully (required).
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment (required).
• High school graduate or equivalent (preferred); 2+ years of food service experience (preferred).
• Food Safety Handler or Food Safety Manager certificate preferred, or as required by state.

Required skills

• Ability to use common software applications and hardware such as an iPad and ToughBook (required).
