About the role

The Nursing Unit Manager for the Operating Room at Jefferson Hwy will lead the unit in delivering high‑quality patient care while maintaining operational efficiency. This position oversees staff, supplies, and equipment, ensuring compliance with standards and fostering a supportive environment for the team.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure quality of care and patient satisfaction through unit‑specific systems and continuous improvements.
• Manage operational profitability using budgets, performance data, system reporting, and inventory control.
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Lead, develop, retain, and inspire an engaged workforce, handling staffing, performance, and professional development.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, local laws, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with a BSN (required for Ochsner Magnet facilities).
• Minimum 3 years RN experience, including at least 1 year as a charge nurse, supervisor, or leader.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to work independently.
