About the role
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of OBGYN is seeking a full‑time Nursing Supervisor to lead the Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility Center. This role ensures smooth operations across clinical units, supports staff performance, and delivers high‑quality patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Allocate nursing staff per shift and unit in coordination with leadership.
- Act as the administrative authority for assigned shifts, notifying administrators of urgent concerns.
- Receive and refer employee, resident, and family grievances.
- Complete staff evaluations and recommend policy revisions.
- Assist with annual budget preparation by identifying supply and equipment needs.
- Review schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Conduct rounds to monitor patient care, staff compliance, and service effectiveness.
- Maintain familiarity with clinical and business systems and ensure internal controls comply with university policies.
- Manage RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants within the Fertility Center.
- Educate patients on reproductive endocrinology and infertility procedures.
- Assist physicians with outpatient clinical tasks, including venipuncture, finger‑sticks, injections, IVF procedures, oocyte retrieval, and embryo transfer.
- Schedule appointments, triage patient calls, and handle prescription refills and lab result reviews.
- Inventory and order medical and laboratory supplies.
Required profile
- Experience supervising nursing staff in a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with reproductive endocrinology, infertility care, and fertility procedures.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as venipuncture, IV therapy, and patient education.
- Strong organizational skills for scheduling, budgeting, and inventory management.
