Patient Access Representative (Full‑Time) – Doral

About the role

The University of Miami Health System in Doral is seeking a full‑time Patient Access Representative to register patients for clinical services. This on‑site position involves obtaining patient information, verifying insurance benefits, and handling payments while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and consent requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients for clinical services, verify insurance, and collect payments.
• Obtain copies of insurance cards, driver’s license, and any referrals.
• Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA statements and obtain signed forms.
• Assist patients with required questionnaires and schedule, cancel, or edit appointments.
• Record no‑show patients accurately and reconcile vouchers for delivery.
• Answer telephone inquiries, provide information, or transfer calls as appropriate.
• Adhere to university policies, safeguard assets, and follow unit‑level procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience in patient registration or similar office setting.
• General knowledge of office procedures and data‑entry with minimal errors.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
• Attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential information.
