Nursing Professional Development Specialist

About the role

The Nursing Professional Development Specialist will plan, implement and evaluate nursing orientation and ongoing professional development for nurses at Martin Health North. You will mentor new caregivers, support their physical, mental and educational needs, and design MyLearning programs to ensure successful education.

Key responsibilities

• Design, direct, implement and evaluate educational offerings based on nursing staff knowledge and skill levels.
• Identify learning needs and develop appropriate evaluation systems to measure effectiveness.
• Consult with Nursing Institute, Ambulatory Nursing, CCF and community partners regarding professional practice.
• Assist in developing department‑specific orientation, competencies and caregiver onboarding.
• Maintain a cataloging system for tracking teaching‑learning resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current RN licensure.
• At least two years of recent nursing experience, including preceptor or BCLS/ACLS instruction.
• Knowledge of education methodology such as needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design and adult learning principles.
• Strong presentation skills.
