Nurse Tech (PRN Day Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida is hiring a Nurse Tech for a PRN day-shift position. The role follows CDC isolation guidelines, works under the direction of a registered nurse and covers geriatric, adult, adolescent and pediatric patients. The pay range is $16.02 - $25.63.

Key responsibilities

• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly, perform hand hygiene and enforce safety regulations.
• Assist in patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Document and report procedures accurately, and obtain nursing history and evaluate age-appropriate behavior, motor skills and physiological norms.
• Perform treatments according to policy and procedure, and respond appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and support quality standards.
• Evaluate patients' developmental level and dependency needs, and identify available support systems.
• Record blood pressures, input and output, blood glucose results and dietary trays.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed the first semester of Nursing Fundamentals, or has completed an accredited nursing program within one year and has not yet licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• 1+ years of nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

Required skills

• Understanding of age-specific care needs for geriatric, adult, adolescent and pediatric patients, including equipment, communication and safety.
• Ability to float between assignments and adapt to different healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance with safety and infection control policies.
