Nurse Simulation Instructor – Per Diem

About the role

The Gordon Center at the University of Miami is hiring qualified Nurse Simulation Instructors (levels 1, 2, and 3) on a per‑diem basis. In this role you will deliver emergency training to a large learner base, coordinate courses, and support the Center’s educational mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide didactic instruction and psychomotor skills training for nursing simulation courses.
• Administer cognitive assessments and evaluate learner performance.
• Coordinate on‑site courses, manage schedules, oversee instructors, and ensure course objectives are met.
• Teach 12‑16 courses per term and participate in instructor development programs.
• Offer remedial tutoring and develop objective criteria for skills evaluation.
• Test and analyze educational tools, maintain current subject‑matter knowledge, and act as liaison with curriculum users.
• Mentor adjunct and less‑experienced instructors, contribute to course revisions, and assist with standardized patient training.
• Manage off‑site courses, set up and break down equipment, maintain inventory, and participate in performance‑improvement committees.

Required profile

• Experience delivering nursing simulation instruction and assessments.
• Ability to coordinate multiple courses and manage instructional teams.
• Strong communication skills for liaison and mentorship roles.
• Commitment to maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of evidence‑based practices.
