About the role
As a Neurophysiologist at NuVasive Clinical Services, you’ll provide intraoperative neuromonitoring during surgery by monitoring the patient’s nervous system. This is a field‑based role with 100% travel throughout the Southeast region (FL, GA, AL, TN, MS, NC, SC, KY).
Key responsibilities
- Obtain detailed medical history and consult with the surgeon regarding structures at risk and modalities to be monitored.
- Communicate monitoring information to the surgeon and surgical team throughout the case.
- Display and label waveforms, measuring latencies, amplitudes and conduction times following established protocols.
- Identify appropriate protocols and perform troubleshooting techniques to assure accurate data collection.
- Complete all required documentation, prepare IOM logs, files and ensure timely uploads.
- Maintain neuromonitoring equipment and conduct required maintenance checks.
- Adhere to company Code of Conduct, AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code and all relevant policies.
- Represent the company professionally and uphold the highest ethical standards.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) with a minimum of 2 years related experience, or equivalent work experience.
- Certified in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM).
- Knowledge of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM), human anatomy & physiology, and technical troubleshooting (preferred).
- Operating Room experience (preferred).
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills, able to handle frequent schedule changes.
- Effective communication skills in English and ability to collaborate with surgeons and surgical staff.
- Ability to travel up to 100% and meet hospital privileges, physical and vaccination requirements.
- Eligibility for medical malpractice insurance coverage (provided by the company) and maintenance of CNIM status.
Required skills
- Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) certification.
- Operation of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) equipment.
- Setup and transport of medical monitoring equipment (up to 50 lb).
