Nurse Manager – Primary Care (North Miami)

About the role

The University of Miami’s UHealth Primary Care clinic in North Miami is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead nursing operations and ensure high‑quality patient care. Reporting to nursing leadership, the manager will oversee patient flow, staff performance, and compliance with regulatory standards within the primary‑care setting.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise patient flow and coordinate nursing activities across designated clinical areas.
• Develop, update, and enforce nursing policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with state board of nursing regulations, the Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency standards.
• Recruit, orient, select, and train registered nurses and auxiliary staff.
• Assign nursing staff to meet patient care requirements and provide coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals, providing education, and supporting self‑care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve patient needs and improve outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment through the design and implementation of related procedures.
• Collect and analyze performance data to drive quality improvement and customer service standards.
• Ensure staff complete mandatory continuing education and competency assessments.
• Provide operational insights to nursing leadership for strategic planning and departmental growth.

Required profile

• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• AAANC Ambulatory Board Certification preferred; required when eligible.
• Demonstrated experience in nursing management, staff supervision, and policy development.
• Strong knowledge of state nursing regulations, quality improvement processes, and patient safety standards.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and foster a compassionate care environment.
