Nurse Manager – Operating Room

About the role

The Nurse Manager of the Operating Room at Florida Weston Hospital leads a team across 19 ORs, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including transplant, robotics, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. This salaried, exempt position works primarily days Monday‑Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of 19 operating rooms and ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Drive improvement initiatives, maintain regulatory readiness, and support shared governance.
• Develop and implement policies, manage budgets, approve purchases, and monitor inventory.
• Supervise staff, evaluate performance, handle hiring and termination, and plan staffing needs.
• Participate in clinical research and support foundation research activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) and current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within the first year.
• At least three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including one year in healthcare management.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of operating room workflows and high‑acuity surgical services.
• Familiarity with robotics in an OR setting (preferred).
