Nurse Manager - Emergency Department

About the role

The Nurse Manager will lead the Emergency Department at Indian River Hospital, ensuring high‑quality, compassionate care 24/7. This position coordinates nursing staff, oversees patient care plans, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to maintain the Cleveland Clinic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage professional nursing practice and delivery of care on the assigned unit.
• Establish clinical direction, supervise staff, and maintain quality and patient‑care standards.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting patient care and develop quality initiatives.
• Analyze staffing needs, supervise performance, and lead recruitment, selection, and termination processes.
• Participate in clinical research, evaluate new products, and oversee budget and inventory management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) and current RN licensure.
• Minimum three years of recent clinical nursing experience, including at least one year in healthcare management.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required on hire or within one year.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required on hire or within 24 months.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – adult.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) – pediatric.
