NP/PA/CNS – Bone Marrow Transplant (Inpatient)

About the role

The position supports the Bone Marrow Transplant inpatient service at Ochsner Health, working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, residents, fellows and other staff. The role involves primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization, teaching, and patient education.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize approved medical practice processes to deliver patient care.
• Provide comprehensive care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Maintain an attitude of inquiry toward medical practices and outcomes, and may develop research methodology.
• Educate patients, families, staff, and the community on health topics.
• Adapt communication and behavior to respect patient privacy and preferences.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies (PA) or related graduate training.
• Current APRN license (Family or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner) or PA license with NCCPA certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Eligibility for prescriptive authority in the state of practice.
• Preferred: 3 years of related experience (not required).

Required skills

• Proficient computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
• Ability to use Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software packages.
