NPI Supplier Engineer III

About the role

Join Applied Materials as an NPI Supplier Engineer III in Austin, TX. You will work with New Product Development and Introduction teams to ensure engineering drawings, specifications, and supplier engagements are clear, accurate, and manufacturable.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with NPI teams to define and communicate engineering drawing requirements to suppliers.
• Participate in supplier selection, technical audits, and performance evaluations to build a competitive supply base.
• Drive quality problem resolution, incident management, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Support cost planning by monitoring key cost drivers and supply market trends.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to explain complex or sensitive information and build consensus across teams.
• Experience presenting NPI project updates to business units and supplier quality management.
• Proven track record of partnering with suppliers and product development teams as a problem‑solver.
• Knowledge of best practices, competitive landscape, and integration of supplier activities with product development.
