Non‑Registered EMG Technologist

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a Non‑Registered EMG Technologist to perform nerve conduction studies and support neuro‑muscular diagnostics across multiple sites. This full‑time position offers flexible start times and occasional Saturday shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform nerve conduction studies, placing surface electrodes and, when required, inserting fine‑needle electrodes.
• Operate and adjust EMG instrumentation to ensure accurate recordings.
• Collaborate with neuro‑muscular neurologists, spine physicians, and registered nurses.
• Maintain laboratory order, clean and restock EMG rooms, and manage administrative tasks such as report transmission and filing.
• Travel to satellite locations (Hillcrest Hospital, Avon Hospital, etc.) with mileage reimbursement.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED or associate’s degree in an accredited END program, or at least two years of college with anatomy and physiology coursework.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to obtain Registered Nerve Conduction Study Tech certification within two years of hire.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and assist with patient positioning.

Required skills

• Knowledge of peripheral neuropathy and neurophysiology.
• Proficiency with nerve conduction study equipment and EMG instrumentation.
• Understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, and human neuroanatomy.
