Night Shift RN – Labor and Delivery at Ochsner Baptist

About the role

This full‑time night‑shift RN position supports labor and delivery patients at Ochsner Baptist Hospital. The role combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high‑quality outcomes within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for labor and delivery.
• Delegate, direct, and collaborate with licensed and ancillary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families, adapting communication to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work night shifts and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lb occasionally.
