About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking a reliable individual to join its San Francisco branch as a Night Shift Cash Handler. This position works in a high‑volume, production‑oriented environment handling U.S. currency and coin for distribution to financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, and distribute U.S. currency and coin in accordance with strict regulatory standards.
• Operate and troubleshoot complex cash‑processing equipment to meet production goals and service level agreements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by balancing, reconciling, and settling daily currency holdings.
• Collaborate with team members to uphold quality‑control policies and standard operating procedures.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, including machine malfunctions and inventory discrepancies, in partnership with leadership.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and operational enhancements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures.
• Basic math and accounting competence.
• Flexibility to serve as backup for day‑shift cash handlers when needed.

Required skills

• Operation of cash‑processing machinery.
• Troubleshooting of equipment issues.

• Shift differential of 10% in addition to base salary.
• Full‑time, 4/10 night‑shift schedule (Monday‑Thursday, 4:00 PM‑3:00 AM).
