New Grad RN Resident - Neurosciences

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute is expanding its state‑of‑the‑art facility and seeks new graduate registered nurses to join the H60 Neurosciences unit. This residency provides a structured curriculum, hands‑on patient care, and mentorship in a high‑acuity neurological environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under the guidance of a coach, following hospital policies and protocols.
• Prioritize patient care activities based on acuity, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Initiate and maintain interventions to ensure safe and effective continuity of care.
• Document patient information accurately in the medical record.
• Respond to clinical data indicating risk and take corrective action.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Current state RN licensure.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.
• Physical ability to lift patients and stand for extended periods.
• Compliance with hospital policies, including influenza vaccination.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (where applicable).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (where applicable).
• Oncology chemotherapy/biosafety training (ONS Chemo/Bio).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) as required.
