New Grad RN Resident – Med/Surg

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident will join the 3rd Floor Complex Medical Care unit at Avon Hospital, providing care for a diverse patient population including cardiac, respiratory, wound, renal, endocrine, gastrointestinal and post‑operative cases. This one‑year accredited residency offers hands‑on training, simulation labs and online modules to develop professional nursing skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of a success coach, prioritizing patient acuity, preferences and resource availability.
• Participate in the residency core curriculum, respond to clinical risks, document care accurately and seek supervision when needed.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program with current state RN licensure.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience; BLS certification required (ACLS if hired in a critical‑care area).

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable).
