About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute is seeking newly graduated registered nurses to join its high‑acuity cardiovascular residency program. Residents will rotate across step‑down units caring for complex cardiac, thoracic, vascular and transplant patients.

Key responsibilities

Provide direct patient care on a 12‑hour rotating day/night schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Participate in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
Collaborate with a success coach to prioritize patient care based on acuity, preferences and resource availability.
Monitor patient data, intervene to mitigate risks, and document care in medical records.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
Current state RN licensure.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
New graduate or less than one year of RN experience.

Required skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Valid RN license.
Foundational nursing knowledge from an accredited program.
