About the role
The New Grad RN Resident will join the J71 Cardiac Step‑down Unit at Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute, providing direct patient care on a fast‑paced telemetry‑monitored unit.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care on a 25‑bed cardiac step‑down unit, rotating day/night shifts.
- Participate in a residency core curriculum and work alongside a success coach.
- Monitor patients continuously, respond to clinical data, and document care in medical records.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, respiratory therapists, and care coordinators.
Required profile
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
Required skills
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within first year).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
