New Business Underwriter

About the role

Converge Insurance is seeking a New Business Underwriter to manage underwriting tasks for cyber‑related insurance lines. The role focuses on driving premium growth while maintaining target loss ratios across a portfolio of cyber liability and errors & omissions coverages.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Cyber Liability, Technology E&O, Media Liability, and other E&O coverages.
• Evaluate, select, and price cyber insurance policies to achieve premium and profitability goals in line with underwriting guidelines.
• Monitor key performance metrics such as quote, bind, and claims ratios and take corrective actions to meet business objectives.
• Develop and manage relationships with partners, brokers, and agents, ensuring proper account servicing.
• Participate in internal underwriting audits to ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines.
• Collaborate with product, claims, and technology teams to ensure proper execution of underwriting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1‑5 years of experience in cyber underwriting.
• General commercial and financial knowledge.
• Strong communication skills across functional areas.
• Ability to manage time, priorities, and meet timelines.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.
