Neurodiagnostic EEG Technologist

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Neurodiagnostic EEG Technologist to support the diagnosis of neurological disorders. Working under the supervision of the laboratory supervisor, you will prepare patients and conduct a range of neurophysiological tests.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and perform EEG, Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction Studies, Transcranial Doppler, Long‑Term Monitoring, and Intraoperative Neuromonitoring.
• Document patient history, apply electrodes using the International 10‑20 system, and troubleshoot equipment and artifacts.
• Maintain infection control standards, adhere to OSHA and JCAHO guidelines, and ensure accurate recording of results.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and effective verbal/written communication.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Technical certifications such as R.NCS.T, R.EEG.T, R.EP.T, RVS, RCS, CLTM, or CNIM.
• Knowledge of EEG electrode placement and neurodiagnostic equipment operation.
