Network Optimization Engineer (NE2) – Government

About the role

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Network Optimization Engineer (NE2) to support government customers in Chantilly, VA. The role focuses on monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs) to ensure optimal traffic flow and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Identify network operations issues, develop and implement analysis and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Analyze network performance metrics (traffic, latency, throughput) and recommend modifications to improve survivability and efficiency.
• Create automation scripts to enhance data collection, system monitoring, and reporting.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and network management teams to integrate upgrades and maintain optimal configurations.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience combination).
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Compliance with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.

Required skills

• WAN/LAN troubleshooting and optimization.
• Network performance analysis and reporting.
• Automation scripting for data collection and system monitoring.
• Proficiency with complex network analysis tools.
