Design Engineer – Core (WAN) for Government Networks

About the role

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a Design Engineer – Core (WAN) to support federal government customers' enterprise networks. This full‑time onsite position is based in Chantilly, VA and requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Key responsibilities

• Own the overall MPLS WAN architecture and develop MPLS WAN service solutions.
• Evaluate, integrate, and test lab equipment for network deployments.
• Assist with security accreditation processes and maintain technical documentation.
• Provide Tier‑4 production troubleshooting and create proactive network analysis solutions for operations.

Required profile

• 16 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience combination).
• DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 compliance.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Required skills

• Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) design and implementation.
• Wide Area Network (WAN) engineering.
• Hands‑on router engineering and operation.
• Lab equipment evaluation, integration, and testing.
• Security accreditation support.
• Network analysis and troubleshooting.
