Network Engineering Intern

About the role

A remote Network Engineering Internship is available through Bridge Talent, supporting a U.S.-based team with network operations, troubleshooting, documentation and IT infrastructure projects. It suits someone wanting to build a career in networking and IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor network availability, performance and connectivity to keep day-to-day operations stable.
• Troubleshoot network and internet connectivity issues under team guidance.
• Assist with configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs under supervision.
• Maintain network diagrams, device inventories and configuration records.
• Support authorised network changes, testing and maintenance in line with team processes.
• Review alerts, document incidents, findings and resolutions, and coordinate with internal teams and service providers to resolve issues.
• Follow company security policies and access procedures.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a qualification in Networking, IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related field.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Reliable computer and internet connection, with availability to overlap with agreed U.S. working hours.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, VLANs and VPNs.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn in a hands-on technical environment.
• An advantage: CCNA coursework, networking lab projects or familiarity with monitoring tools.
