Network Engineer III – Enterprise Network Specialist

About the role
The University of Texas A&M Corpus Christi seeks a Network Engineer III to lead complex network engineering initiatives. Reporting to the Manager of Network Services, you will oversee the design, maintenance, and security of the campus enterprise network.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and maintain LAN, WAN, and Data Center equipment to ensure maximum availability.
- Manage next‑generation firewalls, VPN appliances, and network monitoring tools.
- Oversee network security in collaboration with the Office of Information Security, reviewing alerts and applying vendor updates.
- Lead design activities for complex networking projects, review construction blueprints, and coordinate with project management.
- Research emerging technologies to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance security.
Required profile
- Advanced knowledge of network hardware, security, LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, Data Center, and VoIP solutions.
- Proven experience troubleshooting, analyzing, and solving complex network issues.
- Ability to act as technical lead and provide direction to team members.
