Network Technician II

About the role

The System Offices of Texas A&M University System seeks a Network Technician II to provide entry‑level technical support for the installation, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure on the RELLIS Campus.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware such as switches and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance, respond to service interruptions, and perform basic troubleshooting for wired and wireless connectivity.
• Assist senior engineers with network upgrades, deployments, and maintenance activities.
• Install and maintain network cabling, patch panels, fiber‑optic connections, and telecommunications equipment.
• Document network changes, cable inventories, and equipment installations.
• Respond to service requests and incident tickets from faculty, staff, students, tenants, and partner agencies.
• Escalate complex issues to senior technical staff as needed.

Required profile

• Entry‑level technical background with a focus on network operations.
• Ability to work under general supervision and follow established procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
