Network Engineer II – IT Infrastructure

About the role

The Network Engineer II will join the IT Infrastructure & Research Computing division at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi. You will be responsible for designing, provisioning, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining both on‑premises and cloud‑based network systems that support the university’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the campus enterprise network, covering LAN, WAN, and data‑center environments.
• Perform day‑to‑day network management, ensuring reliable performance and availability.
• Support network security by configuring and monitoring firewalls, VPNs, and related devices.
• Continuously monitor network performance, analyze alerts, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with vendors to address vulnerabilities and apply security patches and updates.
• Contribute to team initiatives and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
