About the role

Ochsner Health seeks experienced nephrologists to diagnose, treat, and manage kidney disease across inpatient and outpatient settings, including renal replacement therapy and transplant care.

Key responsibilities

Diagnose and treat kidney diseases, providing peritoneal and hemodialysis for acute and chronic renal failure.
Manage pre‑ and post‑transplant care for kidney transplant patients, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
Prescribe treatment regimens, refer to specialists as needed, and travel frequently within the New Orleans metropolitan area.

Required profile

Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and a valid Louisiana medical license.
Completion of a nephrology fellowship.

Required skills

Proficiency in renal replacement therapies such as peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis.
Experience with kidney transplant patient management.
Ability to order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging related to kidney conditions.
