NDA III – Night Shift Nursing Assistant

About the role

The NDA III provides daily living assistance to patients, ensures a safe and clean environment, and supports direct patient care under RN direction. This night‑shift position works from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm at Lutheran Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with a wide variety of patient care tasks and collaborate with the health‑care team.
• Organize patient care assignments to ensure timely delivery and completion.
• Document care provided in patient records and label specimens properly.
• Monitor patient pain, report to RN/LPN, and utilize pain scales.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the unit, including equipment and patient areas.
• Perform hourly patient rounds, ensure safety measures and activate bed alarms.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the new‑hire period.
• Previous nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients and standing for long periods.
