Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician – New Ulm

About the role

3M is seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join its New Ulm, Minnesota facility. You will work alongside a diverse team of engineers and operators, ensuring equipment reliability and production uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work behaviors to protect yourself and coworkers.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment failures, identifying root causes.
• Analyze maintenance and performance data to improve reliability and product quality.
• Apply knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and adhere to design limitations.
• Interpret engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, blueprints, and vendor diagrams using both U.S. customary and metric measurements.

Required profile

• Two‑year technical degree in a maintenance or electro‑mechanic field (or high school diploma/GED with 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience).
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and on‑call rotations as needed.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and planning abilities.

Required skills

• Electrical power distribution knowledge.
• Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with both U.S. customary and SI metric measurement systems.
