MRI Technologist – Full Time

About the role

This position ensures safety in the MRI environment while assessing patients and performing routine MRI procedures according to established protocols. The Registered MRI Technologist also serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and ensure correct procedure.
• Explain the MRI procedure to patients and obtain consent.
• Operate MRI equipment and acquire diagnostic‑quality images.
• Review images before transmission to confirm quality standards.
• Perform quality‑control checks and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Assist with departmental operations such as inventory management and staff scheduling.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; clinical MRI experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ARRT, ARMRIT or CAMRT registration.
• Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and ability to mentor junior staff.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

Required skills

• MRI equipment operation and image acquisition.
• Proficiency with Windows applications and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
• Data entry and retrieval capabilities.
• Understanding of MRI safety procedures.
• Certification in BLS and ARRT/ARMRIT/CAMRT.
