Monitor Technician – Night Shift – St. Anne Campus

About the role

The Monitor Technician provides continuous cardiac monitoring for patients on the St. Anne Campus during night shifts. You will observe heart rates and rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and promptly communicate any changes to the appropriate clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Recognize life‑threatening arrhythmias and report them STAT to the appropriate department.
• Maintain visual checks of telemetry monitors and keep accurate logs of patients under observation.
• Interpret basic ECG strips for rate and rhythm and troubleshoot telemetry equipment, collaborating with Biomed and nursing staff as needed.
• Provide clear, calm communication of ECG changes while respecting patient privacy and rights.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (unless exempt for specific cost centers).
• State ECG certification or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read arrhythmias, operate telemetry systems, and follow hospital procedures.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ECG interpretation and state ECG certification.
• Telemetry monitoring equipment operation and troubleshooting (GE systems).
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
