Molecular Biologist III

About the role

The Molecular Biologist III will support innovative therapies for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases by performing cell‑based assays and molecular biology techniques. This role is based in Indianapolis and reports to the manager within the Consumer Products Services division.

Key responsibilities

• Isolate mRNA from cells and tissues and conduct a variety of in‑vitro biochemical assays.
• Perform non‑radioactive assays such as cell proliferation, cytokine secretion, reporter assays, ELISAs, western blots, MSD and PCR.
• Execute immunostaining/immunohistochemical staining and analyze data and imaging.
• Document assay results in electronic notebooks, prepare technical reports, and present findings in client meetings.
• Maintain laboratory supplies, equipment, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular/Cell Biology or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience, including mammalian cell culture and cell line generation.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and troubleshoot technical issues.

Required skills

• mRNA isolation, PCR, ELISA, western blot, MSD, immunostaining techniques.
• Cell‑based assay execution (proliferation, cytokine, reporter assays).
• Data and imaging analysis, electronic notebook documentation.
• Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel.
