Molding Production Manager

About the role

ABB is hiring a Molding Production Manager for its Electrification Installation Products division at the Hackettstown, NJ manufacturing facility. The role reports to the Operations Manager and ensures the smooth operation of a three-shift molding manufacturing environment. It involves leading about 6 direct reports (supervisors and engineers) and overseeing about 100 indirect reports, with oversight of tooling design and creation supported by two tool designers and a machine shop. The work is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Support a three-shift molding production operation, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment across shifts.
• Manage molding production supervisors and guide approximately 100 indirect reports across multiple shifts.
• Manage tool designers and the machine shop supervisor.
• Monitor key production metrics such as efficiency, downtime, scrap reduction and throughput.
• Support and implement process improvements that increase productivity, reduce costs and improve product quality.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and optimize resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years of leadership in a multi-shift environment.
• Previous rubber molding manufacturing experience.
• Ability to manage and develop teams in high-volume manufacturing operations.
• Work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Required skills

• Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems and production tracking tools.
• Solid knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations and workplace safety compliance.
