Model, Simulation & Analysis Engineer

About the role

Stratos Solutions seeks a Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Engineer to support an Intelligence Community space customer in Chantilly, VA. The role involves collaborative engineering, peer‑review, and technical analysis of complex space‑domain problems to guide mission and acquisition decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform orbital mechanics modeling, orbit determination, maneuver analysis, and flight dynamics assessments.
• Conduct link‑budget, latency, and throughput analyses for RF, optical relay, and space‑to‑ground communications.
• Assess satellite payload sensor phenomenology and evaluate system‑level impacts on mission performance.
• Analyze end‑to‑end system designs against required performance parameters and technical performance measures.
• Develop documentation such as terms of reference, study plans, modeling assumptions, data inputs/outputs, analytic results, visualizations, and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (e.g., Physics, Aerospace Engineering).
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• At least 2 years of experience in modeling, simulation, or engineering analysis.

Required skills

• Programming and scripting: C++, Python, R, VBA.
• Data handling: SQL/PostgreSQL, Linux, MATLAB.
• Modeling tools: Systems Tool Kit (STK), SysML, MBSE concepts.
• Data visualization: Tableau or similar platforms.
