Mobile Equipment Operator – Large Mowers & Tractors

About the role
The Mobile Equipment Operator 2 is responsible for safely operating large mowers and tractors across the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. The role supports landscape and construction crews while ensuring equipment is maintained in a ready and safe condition.
Key responsibilities
- Operate mowers and tractors ranging from 25 HP to 125 HP, prioritising safety around pedestrians and traffic.
- Collaborate with landscape and construction crews to perform grounds‑maintenance tasks.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, cleaning, greasing, minor repairs, and maintain accurate service records.
- Keep equipment inspection‑ready at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- At least one year of experience operating mobile equipment.
- Valid driver’s license; subject to motor‑vehicle record check and drug screening.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position.
- Eligibility for safety‑ and security‑sensitive status and emergency‑essential designation.
