Middleware Team Lead

About the role

Trace Systems is seeking a Middleware Team Lead in Radford, Virginia, with experience deploying and managing middleware software that supports customer applications. The associated project is currently in the proposal stage. The role involves architecting and maintaining mid-tier infrastructure in Linux, UNIX and Windows environments, and ensuring it meets Army security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Architect infrastructure, install and configure application and web servers, portals and related software, and OS configuration in Linux, UNIX and Windows environments.
• Maintain the infrastructure to meet availability and performance standards.
• Assist in scheduling deployment activities and new installations of mid-tier infrastructure.
• Develop security standards for the mid-tier and ensure systems and applications meet Army security requirements.
• Apply knowledge of Cyber Command Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) processes and procedures.
• Perform a Security Readiness Review (SRR) and document findings in a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
• Develop and maintain mid-tier system monitoring and administrative dashboards for proactive system management.

Required profile

• Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
• US citizenship required due to the nature of the work and contract requirements.
• Computer Science or IT experience, including three or more years with application server architecture in a large enterprise environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required skills

• Application server platforms such as IIS, Apache Tomcat, Apache, Java, WebLogic, WebSphere or similar.
• Web services (SOAP and REST) and XML.
• Familiarity with Java or C# to help developers debug applications.
• UNIX and Windows administration.
• Desired: DTD, XSLT, Xerces, Xalan, Oracle and SQL Server databases, Python, PowerShell, DoW STIGs and IAVM.
