Middle School Cross Country Coach (2026-2027)

About the role

The Tucson Unified School District is seeking a dedicated Middle School Cross Country Coach for the 2026‑2027 school year. The coach will promote sportsmanship, ensure student safety, and serve as a positive role model for student‑athletes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise athletes during practices, locker‑room sessions, bus travel, and all competition events.
• Foster good character, teamwork, and a respectful environment among players, parents, and officials.
• Maintain compliance with all district safety policies, including concussion protocols and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate with school staff to align athletic activities with classroom objectives.

Required profile

• Current CPR with AED certification and First Aid certification (in‑person training required).
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Availability to work Saturdays as needed.
• Commitment to complete required trainings (bloodborne pathogen, immunization proof) prior to start date.

Required skills

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certification.
• NFHS Concussion Management certification.
• ATC Student‑Athlete Health & Wellness certification.
• Suicide Prevention or Student Mental Health certification.

What we offer

• Stipend prorated for days missed due to late starts or early terminations.
• Temporary, fixed‑term employment for the 2026‑2027 season (no district benefits).
