Merchandiser / Cashier

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is hiring a merchandiser and cashier for its store in Lexington, South Carolina. The role covers stocking and displaying merchandise on the sales floor, handling customer checkouts, and acting as a deterrent against shoplifting.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor, help them find products or direct them to a parts specialist.
• Check out customers, handle returns, and finish tickets, take cash, checks and credit cards when the counter is busy.
• Keep the front area stocked and clean, and make display changes according to planograms and company guidelines.
• Make out-front price changes, ensure sale signs and flyers are in place, and remove sale material when the sale ends.
• Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts and overstock returns, and work with the manager on store and team weekly tasks.
• Act as a main shoplifting deterrent and front-floor security, clock in and out per company policy, and assist with O'Reilly Image Maker duties.

Required profile

• Good aptitude for dealing with number sequences, good interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• Desired: previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Desired: ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
