Mental Health Therapist – Children and Families

About the role

Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to deliver comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and families facing serious developmental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The role involves direct treatment, assessments, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a supportive, mission‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mental health services to children, adolescents, and families with serious developmental, emotional, and behavioral problems.
• Conduct comprehensive intake evaluations, develop multi‑axial diagnoses, and implement evidence‑based treatment plans.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of direct treatment experience with children and families.
• Licensed Mental Health Professional in Washington State (e.g., LICSW, LMFT) and completion of required fingerprinting.
• Maintain good standing medical or allied health staff privileges within 90 days of hire.

Required skills

• Experience with evidence‑based practice and comprehensive intake evaluations.
• Familiarity with multi‑system involved children with severe behavioral problems or developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of King County Mental Health Program and Washington State Mental Health WACs.
