Mental Health Tech – Night Shift

About the role

This position provides delegated nursing care to adult, geriatric, and medical‑psychiatric patients during the night shift. The role follows physician orders, treatment team guidelines, and hospital policies while complying with local, state, federal and JCAHO standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as oral care, meals, and mobility.
• Participate in therapeutic milieu activities under clinical staff direction.
• Contribute to unit quality‑care improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to JCAHO National Patient Safety Goals and adapt interactions to respect patient privacy.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required.
• American Heart Association Health Care Provider (BLS) certification.
• Completion of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within the first month.
• Preferred certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
