Melt Shop Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

The Melt Shop Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Melt Shop Superintendent and leads maintenance activities within the melt shop. This position ensures routine maintenance is performed, drives continuous improvement, and supports safe, efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all maintenance efforts in the melt shop, working closely with other maintenance facilitators.
• Standardize processes, procedures, LOTOTO, job aids, and one‑point lessons.
• Conduct needs assessments, audits, and coaching for maintenance and reliability programs.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance, safety management processes, 5S improvements, and cost/environmental control goals.
• Manage the budget for the assigned area and track performance metrics.

Required profile

• Four‑year degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years in an industrial/manufacturing environment with exposure to maintenance and reliability practices.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and people‑management skills.
• Ability to train, guide, and work with associates at all levels.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of PLCs, drives and motors troubleshooting.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with SAP or other CMMS platforms.
• Analytical computer skills and ability to develop technical documentation.
