Quality Manager

About the role

Celgard, a leader in membrane battery separators, is seeking a Quality Manager to lead its Quality Department at the Charlotte, NC plant. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Global Quality, the manager will ensure products meet internal and external requirements while supporting a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Quality Engineers and laboratory staff, providing coaching, performance management, and training to meet certification standards.
• Oversee startup of new coating and slitting operations, introducing testing equipment, quality processes, and a Quality Management System.
• Monitor process capability, drive Lean/Six Sigma projects, and manage corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints.
• Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards, including APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001 audits.
• Utilize FMEA, SPC, RCA, and statistical analysis tools to identify trends and resolve quality issues.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Process Engineering to assess raw‑material and process changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (preferred).
• 7+ years of quality systems experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive.
• 4+ years leading teams of engineers and technicians.
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 (strongly preferred).
• Experience with blown‑film or plastics manufacturing is a plus.
