Med/Surg RN with Sign-On Bonus

About the role

The Med/Surg Registered Nurse provides direct patient care on the Ochsner Baptist unit, applying the nursing process and adhering to the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Scope & Standards of Practice. This position also serves as a leader, delegating tasks and supporting interdisciplinary teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care using the nursing process and assess learning needs of patients and families.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members to achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and manage nursing resources.
• Utilize data and evidence‑based practice to promote change and optimal patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior work experience required.
