Medical Technologist – PRN

About the role

The Medical Technologist provides specimen processing, performs laboratory tests, and ensures accurate diagnostic data for patient care. This PRN position works on‑site in the Baptist facility, supporting the clinical laboratory team.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and prepare specimens according to standard protocols.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing, calculations, and data entry.
• Conduct quality control, instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Execute phlebotomy procedures as needed and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Document corrective actions and adhere to regulatory and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related scientific field.
• Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license in the state of practice (or obtain within 180 days).
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB generalist certification required within 90 days of hire.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Experience with Windows‑style applications and keyboard use.
• Laboratory testing techniques, quality control, and instrument maintenance.
• Phlebotomy procedures.
