Medical Technologist / MLT / Laboratory Technician IV – Blood Bank

About the role

The Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician IV works the night shift in the Blood Bank at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, performing and interpreting laboratory tests of all complexity levels to support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and reporting while maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge, adhere to quality control policies, and document instrument calibrations and maintenance.
• Conduct proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations and ensure proper documentation.
• Identify and resolve test performance issues or notify supervisors promptly.
• Provide education and training to students, employees, and residents on laboratory procedures and safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science/technology from an accredited institution.
• Meets CLIA high‑complexity testing personnel qualifications (grandfathering clause). Transcripts required; foreign degrees must be evaluated.

Required skills

• PCR knowledge.
• Pipetting experience.
